Writing assist

Bedrock can use your local LM Studio model to help write and refine text — right inside the editor and the prompt board. Nothing leaves your machine.

In the document editor

Work on a selection or the whole document:

  • Select text in the Source or Split editor and a small action bar pops up next to it, or
  • click the ✨ Assist button in the editor bar (it acts on your selection, or the whole document body if nothing is selected).

Choose an action: Improve, Rephrase, Shorten, or Custom… (type your own instruction, e.g. "make it more formal" or "turn into bullet points").

Preview, then accept

The result opens in a side-by-side panel — your original next to the suggestion. The suggestion is editable. Then:

  • Regenerate to try again,
  • Accept to apply it (replacing the selection or the document body), or
  • Discard to leave the text unchanged.

Nothing is modified until you accept.

On the prompt board

In a prompt card, the ✨ Generate menu offers the same actions plus Write from title (drafts an instruction from the card's title). The result replaces the card's instruction.

Requirements

Assist uses the LM Studio integration. Enable it and select a model in Settings → Integrations. If it's off or no model is selected, Assist tells you where to fix it.
